The Full Story

I have four children, three of whom are in college right now. Having one kid in college can already be a financial strain, so one could imagine how three would be even more of a financial strain in today’s economy.

Being in the public safety industry, you tend to fall into a tax bracket that is too high, for many financial aid pathways, but too low (not enough income) to support your children the way they need (and the way you wish you could). We have been incredibly fortunate for each of my children to have the opportunity to apply for scholarships through B.A.D.G.E. Scholarships can sometimes be hard to come by, and this opportunity gave us a chance that was within reach.

Each of my children were able to apply for separate scholarships not only as freshmen, like other scholarship programs, but throughout their college years. B.A.D.G.E. understands how the financial stress of college not only impacts a family in the beginning, but that it can impact and put strain on you throughout the college tenure and beyond.

I can’t thank the B.A.D.G.E. organization and the community enough for their generosity and kindness toward me and my family. It gives me peace of mind to know my children will have a lesser financial burden on their plates as they start out in life, and that wouldn’t be possible without this program.
